Jamie Smith, otherwise known as Jamie xx and highly valued member of the great breakthrough band "the XX", has begun to make his mark on the world by himself.
some may see this as a 'risky' or 'too soon' a move from the band for the young producer but he has very quickly put all those anxious minds at ease through his truly exceptional collaborations and remixes with a whole bunch of respected artists.
The most promising and recent project from Jamie is said to hit the shelves on February 21st. This being the remixed album, We're New Here of Gil Scott Heron. with Jamie's unique sound this album will surely be the start of a great producing career for the young kid and already deals are being made such as the Canadian rap artist Drake inviting him to help with his new album Take Care which will also include Florence and the Machine.
while nothing has been said about Jamie making a move back to the band, we will still be hearing pure, amazing sound through our speakers and headphones alike.
